Artist Statement

I speak so that I can be heard.  My voice is used to explore and expose what has defined me, how I have responded, and how I choose to continue living within those terms.

I construct and document performances to investigate how social power influences identity, masculinity, and adolescence.  My own body is used as a tool to manifest the subconscious/irrational life of the psyche through performances that involve intuition, chance, and collaboration.  While the imagery leans toward surreal behavior, it upholds a strong relationship to the real, the document, the always-already present.
